Brand and reputation are critical for business and the Volkswagen emissions story in 2015 was a classic example of how one event can have a major impact on both.
So it is very strange that when asked, all business say reputation is important, however very few business include reputation monitoring and reputation management in their overall strategy. The perception is that reputation is implicit in marketing a business, so the difficult questions never get asked.
Even fewer businesses market their reputation, so why not, because if we are providing a good service or products and getting reviews we should be getting this message out to a larger audience on a regular basis.
